There will be a blood drive with the American Red Cross at Antioch Station 1 located at 5430 Ga Hwy 219, in Fortson, Georgia from 9 AM to 2 PM. By giving blood you could win two Delta Airline Tickets from the American Red Cross donated by Delta Airlines.

Antioch responded Squad 1 and Engine 1 Saturday evening 12/18/11 to help Santa. Santa distributed candy canes aboard Engine 1 with sirens and air horns announcing his arrival.

Safety Thoughts

Deep Frying a turkey can be dangerous.

a Hot oil burns never completely heal.

b. Be extremely careful in lowering and raising a turkey out of fryer. Oil is highly

combustable.

c. A deep fryer vessel can remain extremely hot for hours.

d. A turkey not fully thawed can cause oil in fryer to over flow.

e. Fryers can tip over easily.

f. Please use your deep fryer outside.

The Antioch Volunteer Fire Department helped to support a Charity Poker-Run motorcycle ride. There were approximately 150 motorcycles that stopped at Antioch Station 1 as part of the remembrance of those who perished on September 11, 2001. The ride was organized by the National Infantry Museum and Solider Center.
